LRC Sexuality Education, LLC was established in July 2023 by owner and Sexuality Educator, Lea R. Cortez. Having worked with children, youth, families and adults with disabilities for 15 years, she recognized a need for comprehensive sexuality education for folks with disabilities and their families. LRC Sexuality Education, LLC was established in July 2023 by owner and Sexuality Educator, Lea R. Cortez. Having worked with children, youth, families and adults with disabilities for 15 years, she recognized a need for comprehensive sexuality education for folks with disabilities and their families. Currently, in the US, educational gaps exist for folks with disabilities, especially on the topic of sexuality. Unfortunately, not everyone has access to quality, evidence - based and medically accurate information. LRC Sexuality Education, LLC strives to empower both individuals and their families by filling in the gaps through holistic sexuality education. LRC Sexuality Education, LLC since opening has supported individuals with and without disabilites, parents, couples and professionals nationally and locally in Illinois.

- To provide medically accurate and holistic sexuality education to folks who are Neurodivergent or identify as having a Disability.
- To help dispel the stigmas around sexuality and disabilities by educating parents, caregivers, providers and the general public.

About Lea R. Cortez, Sexuality Educator
Why I do what I do: My Journey
I began my journey as a Sexuality Educator in 2021. I studied with Elevatus Training. Today I continue to grow and study with the Institute for Sexuality Education and Enlightenment (ISEE). I proudly hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with an emphasis in counseling. Additionally, I have an Associates in Medical Assisting and I am a Certified PEERS Provider. I have dedicated my life’s work to serving those who have Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD), Autism, physical disabilities and other exceptionalities. I am neurodivergent and seek to empower others. I have spent over 15 years working with children, youth, young adults and adults through various settings (Ex. Social Services, Group Homes, ABA Therapy). My passion in life is helping others. My passion was ignited by my faith in Christ, but also due to having amazing loved ones who identify as having disabilities. My brother Adam, for example has Autism and inspires me daily. My husband, children, family and friends are my biggest cheer leaders. In addition to being a sexuality educator, I am an ASHA sexual health ambassador and DD-Aide. I currently also serve in social services through a nonprofit.
